<\/p>\nYour clients aren\u2019t asking you to fix a leaky tap, submit their tax return, or paint their toenails. They are asking you to help them make a big bold move, both physically and emotionally, onto the next chapter of their lives.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s stressful, but you are there to hold your client\u2019s hand throughout the transition. You have an excellent bedside manner, you ease the worry and pain, but most important of all, you help them make tough, yet well-informed decisions.<\/p>\n
And for you, it\u2019s also an emotional rollercoaster. Helping home sellers is intense and draining, but you make that investment in them, time and time again.<\/p>\n

As agent Jacqui Rowland-Smith shared with me; \u201cthe weeks you spend in each other\u2019s pockets is almost like a marriage, and even though you aren\u2019t actually married, more often than not you come away as friends for life!\u201d<\/p>\n

As agent Mariana Wagner shared \u201cas a real estate agent, it\u2019s not IF you will be sued \u2026 it\u2019s WHEN. Dotting my \u201ci\u201d\u2018s and crossing my \u201ct\u201d\u2018s and keeping great notes has been the shield and sword against many a whacko. I SO appreciate the foreknowledge of keeping great notes in a situation that could be potentially sticky \u2026 real estate or not.\u201d<\/p>\n
I love the unique perspective of Amy Curtis. She says \u201cI like solving problems and real estate is an all-you-can-eat-buffet of problems to be solved.\u201d She explains, \u201che likes newer construction; she\u2019s drawn to vintage homes \u2026 What house will we find that they will agree on? It starts as a mystery, but you get to help solve it \u2026 and always do! Solving mysteries is one of the more fun things I do.\u201d<\/p>\n
And just like those \u2018choose your own adventure\u2019 books we read as kids, you get to choose your own clientele, and each one of those can be an adventure!<\/p>\n

Mariana Wagner adds; \u201creal estate is an endless series of entertaining choices. Should I show the home that has four stoned teenagers in the basement and a random passed out adult in the living room? Or, should I bypass THAT house for the one that has four shrines to Elvis? Should I take the listing that smells like a parakeet factory? Or should I take the listing where each room is painted a different hue of fluorescent pink?\u201d<\/p>\n
Your tenacity and persistence never ceases to impress. As a real estate agent, you\u2019re always fired up, ready to face the day and tackle what comes your way.<\/p>\n
If someone\u00a0moves your cheese<\/a>\u00a0(as in the fable and\u00a0best-selling book by Dr Spencer Johnson<\/a>) you know exactly what to do. You\u2019re no Hem and Haw.<\/p>\n And the obstacles to tackle and curve balls to catch are almighty when they come. It\u2019s a high-emotion, high-stakes game, but you love the thrill of the chase and throw yourself in \u2013 body and soul.<\/p>\n You enjoy the ruckus and fast pace of the game, and always succeed in making it across the try line. But the exhilaration comes from scoring that goal right before the final whistle blows. Back-slaps all round!<\/p>\n Luke Bouman shares this same sentiment; \u201cSure, it can be fun (and you can make awesome money at times), but every deal is different and many will suck your time away and make you no money. Every [agent] out there will attest to this \u2013 you have to take the good with the bad, like all things in life.<\/p>\n And, you know, I bet you wouldn\u2019t have it any other way!<\/p>\n Mariana Wagner loves the fact that there\u2019s \u201ca smorgasbord of things to learn. Market trends, new technologies, social media and the things that just pop up in every deal.\u201d<\/p>\n As a trainer myself, you make my job, teaching you about social media, digital and inbound marketing an absolute pleasure. You are the perfect students \u2013 interested, alert and hungry to learn. Real estate marketing is constantly changing, and you love learning all the cutting edge tips and tricks. And I love sharing them with you, because I know it\u2019s going to make a big difference, help elevate you, and enable you to be the best possible YOU, you can be.<\/p>\n Mariana Wagner adds \u201creal estate is what brought me into the world of blogging and social media. Now I have even MORE friends who think I am odd. I love you all.\u201d<\/p>\n You help people make tough decisions every day. For every post, you place, there\u2019s as many if not more likes, shares and comments from your industry peers than anyone else in your social network.<\/p>\n Many of you love helping your peers so much that you\u2019ve transitioned from real estate agent to real estate coach, such as\u00a0Claudio Encina<\/a>,\u00a0Jet Xavier<\/a>,\u00a0Charles Baynie<\/a>, and Kevin Turner with his podcast show,\u00a0Real Estate Uncut<\/a>. You are so fortunate because there are so many more people like them on hand to help.<\/p>\n Others of you still sell by day but have made a commitment to foster online real estate communities by night, such as Zac McHardy and Edgar Natolo from\u00a0The Real Estate Community<\/a>\u00a0and Daniel Hayes from\u00a0ABB Always Be Branding<\/a>.<\/p>\n There were over 20 real estate Facebook groups at last count, where you network, joke, poke fun at yourselves, share leads and vent in safety.<\/p>\n When I interviewed Zac about his, he said \u201cit\u2019s been a success in my mind, not because of our large number of followers, the numbers are irrelevant, it\u2019s more the level of engagement we\u2019ve seen. Members are free to share ideas, so there are lots of great takeaways from agents at all levels. Plus everyone\u2019s free to voice opinions, so you see a lot of solidarity and spirited back and forth banter\u201d.<\/p>\n I enjoy reading the stories you share. You most certainly make your own industry fun and rewarding.<\/p>\n You\u2019re not stuck in an office like most professions. You can work from home, your car, the coffee shop, or even the beach in Bali?!<\/p>\n You can create your own schedule, so you can be there for your kids, family and friends when they need you.<\/p>\n You have the ability to strike up a conversation with anybody, so you do, with everybody!<\/p>\n \u201cWork hard \u2013 play hard\u201d, is your motto.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n You are certainly not introverted, no one is going to describe you as \u201cshy and retiring\u201d, and that\u2019s what I love about you most.<\/p>\n You wear your heart on your sleeve. That\u2019s brand YOU! And you work on brand YOU consistently.<\/p>\n When you are afforded the opportunity, you like to entertain and look on the bright side of any situation.<\/p>\n It\u2019s hard to bring comedy into every situation, but you do when you can.
